The story.

1993 – Founding of Jotoliveira, Lda., the company that would later create World Shopper, launching the first structure dedicated to Mystery Shopping studies in the automotive sector.

2009 – Introduction of the World Shopper brand, aiming to better communicate the company's ambitions. This marked the creation of the R&D department, which drives all innovations introduced by the World Shopper brand.

2010 – Launch of the first edition of what, over more than a decade, has become one of the most renowned automotive events in Iberia, the World Shopper Conference.

2017 - The World Shopper Conference brought the first Level 5 autonomous vehicle to Portugal and conducted a demonstration in real-world conditions in Estoril. 


2019 -The World Shopper Conference has grown significantly over the years. In 2019, held at Nova SBE Cascais, the event attracted 1,269 attendees from 13 countries, featuring 45 speakers, 16 workshops, and 36 exhibitors. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held online for one month, reaching 4,665 participants from 56 countries. The digital edition showcased 128 speakers, 98 presentations, and 36 online exhibitors, reflecting the event’s global reach and adaptability in challenging times.

2020 – Launch of the "Viver Elétrico" (Living Electric) project, a comprehensive market education program on the energy transition. This initiative included electric vehicle training courses for professionals and customers, which, by 2024, had already trained over 4,500 people. Under the Viver Elétrico brand, World Shopper also launched a wide range of content production services, including brand activation initiatives and more.

2022 – We created the World Shopper Talk Show, a unique B2B event in Portugal designed specifically for C-level management, with a thematic focus on the automotive retail and distribution sector. The event features exclusive, in-depth interviews with key industry personalities, covering highly strategic topics. The WS Talk Show stands out for its innovative and creative approach, providing a platform for thought leadership and cutting-edge discussions.

​In the 2023 edition, we showcased an impressive live demonstration of Chat GPT-4 in a conversational mode, highlighting its transformative potential for the sector.


2025 – All these activities continue to thrive today, fully adapted to current market characteristics. For example, the 2025 edition of the Viver Elétrico program features new formats, new content, and updated manuals.

After more than a year of studying prompt engineering in the field of Generative AI, World Shopper introduces a unique market innovation: a service for developing customized GPTs for companies in the automotive sector. The goal is to leverage over 35 years of experience in the industry, combined with expertise in prompt engineering, to create Personalized GPTs that automotive companies can use in their marketing, sales, after-sales, management, and development activities.

Co-Founder of World Shopper and Mentor of "Viver Elétrico"

Ricardo is a futurist with a track record of over 30 years in the automotive industry, pioneering electric mobility and embracing emerging trends such as Generative AI. He leads the '2035 Automotive 360º Vision' study.

Ricardo is an established author and digital influencer, with over 100 insightful articles and more than 400 engaging videos published, showcasing his depth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the automotive industry.

He has collaborated with almost every car brand, both in Portugal and abroad. Beyond his corporate achievements, he is celebrated for his captivating presence as a professional speaker. Known for the energy and dynamism of his presentations, Ricardo captivates audiences, sharing insights and igniting discussions that shape the future of the automotive sector.

Fernando Farminhão
Co-Founder of World Shopper and Head of Customer Experience

Fernando is one of the founders of Jotoliveira, Lda. and is arguably one of the most experienced professionals in Mystery Shopping for the automotive, heavy vehicles, and motorcycle sectors in Europe.

Since 1993, he has led the organization of over 80,000 Mystery Shopping visits, both in Portugal and abroad.

Today, Fernando oversees the entire Customer Experience area at World Shopper, which includes Mystery Shopping activities, Market Research studies, and the Automotive Marketing Tool (AMT), an exclusive real-time pricing and campaign tool essential for product management.

Fernando is a deep expert in Customer Experience within the automotive sector and is well-equipped to lead any project in this field, ensuring excellent quality and precision in delivering results.

Cristina Ferreira

Senior Manager of Business Development and Events

Cristina is responsible for Business Development and Events, as well as being an essential part of the "Living Electric" project.

She combines her experience in leadership roles at OEMs and Dealerships with a highly proactive attitude towards new technologies and a constant predisposition for innovation.

Her role is cross-functional within the company, actively participating in various initiatives and fostering a spirit of innovation and positivity within the team.

​Cristina is recognized for her creativity, perseverance, and quick responsiveness.

Rodrigo Pinto
Senior Manager of "Viver Elétrico" 

Rodrigo is the Leader of the 'Viver Elétrico' training program and an expert in electric mobility, always eager to expand both his knowledge and that of the trainees.

Rodrigo has the skills to conduct comprehensive training programs and easily wins everyone's favor.

He is familiar with all the electric vehicles on the market and continuously studies the evolution of electric mobility in all its aspects.

Rodrigo is one of the authors of the Viver Elétrico Knowledge Center and has published dozens of articles on electric mobility.

Rodrigo conducts all the range tests in the Viver Elétrico Fleet and has extensive experience in long-distance travel with BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles). In the field, Rodrigo is known for his exceptional ability to handle high-stress situations.

Senior Manager of Customer Experience

António has been responsible for the operational area of Customer Experience since 2007.

He possesses an exceptional ability to quickly launch and organize new projects in this field from A to Z.

António never hesitates in the face of a challenge and manages more than 2,200 auditors who collaborate with World Shopper.

António knows the intricacies of Mystery Shopping like no one else and coordinates World Shopper's relationships with the Mystery Shopping Providers Association and various suppliers in this area.

Despite his focus on Customer Experience, António is highly involved in all World Shopper activities and has played a prominent role in organizing World Shopper events.

Manuel Madeira

Retail Specialist

Manuel has over 30 years of experience in automotive retail, having held positions ranging from salesperson to general manager of a dealership.

Today, he leads one of the most avant-garde used vehicle operations in terms of management, thanks to techniques he has learned in the USA and Brazil.

Manuel is a born entrepreneur, always receptive to new ideas and committed to developing new projects.

He is responsible for World Shopper's training in financial products, where he has created and conducted programs that stand out for their pragmatism and efficiency in results.

Manuel is one of the "fathers" of the World Shopper Conference and is a key element in the success of all World Shopper events.
